Is Personal Training Worth the Cost?
Personal training can often be viewed as a luxury or an expensive fitness option. This perception is limiting and lacks awareness of the benefits personal training provides. My goal as a trainer/coach/athlete is to inform people that any form of training should be viewed as an investment in your body’s longevity.
Whether you are a pro athlete, recreational athlete, or weekend warrior your body’s ability to function at its best capacity not only determines acute performance but long term health as well. In other words, if you want to be able to lift weight, run 5ks, play football, or simply live longer, the cost of making sure your body is well prepared and durable is necessary.
Working out at the gym 3-5 times a week is a good foundation of physical preparedness and is typically regarded as “enough” to stay fit. However, it’s typically what you are NOT doing that leads to compensation issues, performance slumps, and injuries. This is where additional training services and resources can help fill your training void.
The training service that I provide offers the appropriate preparation to enhance your ability to function and perform. With an emphasis on education, my approach is to make sure that each individual I work with becomes more aware of their current movement adaptations as I help them achieve optimal adaptation.
As long as there is awareness there can be progress.
Personal training is the only service that can truly address an individual’s needs from a science based and professional perspective. The additional value of a trained eye as your personal programmer is worth the investment.
As far as cost is concerned, it is dependent on how much value one sees in their health and performance. Now, I understand budgets and financial obligations, but again your body is a lifelong project. Just like any other investment, you have to be smart and strategic.
Seeking professional assistance does not mean you have to break the bank in one sitting. This is why there are multiple training packages available. Any investment in personal training can provide beneficial outcomes, no matter how big or small. A one time movement assessment and consultation can also be a valuable tool to learn about your body and help you in your own training approach.
No matter what personal training package works best for you, there is always a way to help you better afford it. At the end of the day, your health and wellbeing is worth the world and seeking assistance to optimize your world is not the end of the world!!
